Smart Solar’s Aruba Bistro Set won the Outdoor Leisure, Garden Structures and Features section of the Garden Industry Manufacturers’ Association (GIMA) Awards. The Award ceremony was held at Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel, Heathrow on Thursday 12th July.
Paul Knott, Smart Solar’s sales director said, “The Aruba Bistro Set was launched last year at Glee and has been a huge success in garden centres this summer. We are delighted that the GIMA judges recognised the innovative use of solar in a brand new product concept, which is something that Smart Solar really excels in.”
The patented frosted glass topped table has an integrated solar lighting panel that lights up during darkness with either 8 colour-changing or 8 white LED lights, providing a delightful outdoor ambience for patios, decks and balconies. Made from practical dark brown faux rattan with a steel frame, the Aruba table and two chairs are suitable for prolonged outdoor use, although both the chairs and the table can be folded away for easy storage.

Smart Solar’s Bright Eyed Owls were also a finalist in the same category. The Owls, which are in a practical merchandising unit, have consistently been one of the company’s best selling products throughout the year.
Paul adds, ”Smart Solar has a long history of designing innovative solar products and this is reflected in our growing sales in the UK, across Europe and in the USA. Winning a GIMA Award is testament to our product development team providing the right products for the market.”
