Plane etiquette

It always bemuses me what a state people get in when a plane lands. First of all there’s a frantic turning on of mobiles, as if the world will end if messages aren’t checked that instant, and then lurking impatiently in the seat rows to disembark, bags at the ready. Being tall, I usually avoid that part, I see no fun in standing hunched up beneath a low slung baggage compartment, when you can’t get off the plane any faster than the row in front anyway. Since the unspoken rule is that everyone gets off by rows starting at the front, there seems little point in getting agitated. Everyone will get off accordingly to their row, and chances are that any baggage won’t beat you to the carousel…
